In late January, rumor had it that there were tall piles of ice on the shores of Lake Erie. Sure enough, I made it to the shoreline in time to capture a few images before the unusually warm February weather melted it all away. Driving along Lakeshore Drive in Ottawa County, Ohio, we discovered a beautiful length of ice near shore. Natural beauty has a way of persuading a person to stand in cold rainy wet weather to gather evidence of its splendor. Hardly a month later, all the ice piles are gone, and I am curious to see what next winter will reveal.
